SCENESSE® (afamelanotide) Italian access scheme: 648/96 listing

Following the inclusion of SCENESSE® (afamelanotide) on the list of drugs reimbursable by the Italian National Health System (Sistema Sanitario Nazionale, SSN) under Law 648/96, the drug can now be prescribed by Italian doctors to Italian patients diagnosed with erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP).

The listing was made possible following an application from the Italian Porphyria Centre at San Gallicano Hospital in Rome. If you live in Italy and have been diagnosed with EPP, please contact the Centre for more information on participating in this program.
